In 1977, St\u00e9phane Duroy began a project on the transformation that Great Britian went through during their period of Thatcherism. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the same time, he began his work in West Berlin, which later lead him to covering the fall of the Berlin Wall, in ex- east Germany, to Poland, and finally, to Slovakia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 1986, he joined Vu agency. He then published \u201cBerlin\u201d and \u201cGreat Britan\u201d (Temps de Pose Edition).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 1989, he became a World Press Photo laureate (in the Daily Life catergory) for his work on the African community in Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 1990, he received the L\u00e9onardo di Vinci grant to pursue his work in Berlin. He then published \u201cBerlin: Open City\u201d (Nathan Image).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 1991, for the second time, he was named a world Press Photo laureate (in the Nature and Environment category) for his photograph illustrating pollution in ex- east Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since 1996, he has worked essentailly on public commissions (La Filature\/Mulhouse, Parc de la Villette, Th\u00e9\u00e2tre la Passerelle\/Gap, Centre Culturel Andr\u00e9 Malraux\/Vandoeuvre, etc…)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2000, he participated in the project \u201cEuropean Eyes on Japan\u201d on the island of Okinawa. He had an exposition, and published \u201cL\u2019Europe du Silence\u201d (Filigranes Editions).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2002, his expostion entitiled \u201cCollapse\u201d was presented at the European house of Photography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2003, he received the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation\u2019s grant and had an exposition entitled, \u201cHeritiage\u201d at the Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2004, he published \u201cFamily Circle\u201d (Filigranes Edition).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2005, he had an expostion at Filature de Mulhouse on his photographs of the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2006, his exposition, \u201cPortugal: terre d\u2019exils\u201d was presented at the Fondation Calouste Gulbenkian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2007, he published \u201cUknown\u201d a book on his work in the United States (Filigranes Edition)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
St\u00e9phane Duroy\u2019s work has been presneted in diverse public and private collections (Biblioth\u00e8que Nationale, Fonds National d\u2019Art Contemporain, Maison Europ\u00e9enne de la Photographie).
