Alexandra Catiere was born in Minsk, in the current Belorussia. She lives and works in Paris. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2000, she moved in Moscow and began to get interested by photography. She moved to NYC in 2003 to studied at the International Center of Photography (ICP). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2005, she joined. Irvin Penn\u2019s studio. She moved to Paris in 2008. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2011, after a residency at the Centre d\u2019art de GwinZegal in Guigamp, she is the laureate of the first edition of the BMW Residency et the Nic\u00e9phore Niepce Museum in Chalons sur Sa\u00f4ne. The same year she is exhibited at the Rencontres internationales de la photographie in Arles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alexandra Catiere often works with international press (The New Yorker, The New York Times, FOAM, Le Monde\u2026)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alexandra Catiere\u2019s photographs have been exhibited at the Modern Art Museum of Moscow, the Contemporary Art Museum in Rome, the Centre National de l\u2019Audiovisuel in Luxembourg and the Photoforum PasquArt in Bienne, Switzerland. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alexandra Catiere\u2019s life path, from the former Soviet Union to the United States and then to France, both scorns borders and testifies to her striving for universality. The photographer has made timelessness a salient feature of an oeuvre that revives photography\u2019s humanistic tradition in a virtuoso capturing of sensation and atmosphere.
